Tribe, I am excited, humbled and honored to share episode 150 of #thePOZcast. For the last 3 years, Joe has been a beacon to me, a mentor and an inspiration in both the world of recruitment, branding and creative. In February, I visited him down in South Florida at OneSixty Studios to record this special episode. I was brought along my wife Ilona and daughter Nina to meet Joe and see what inspires me.

Joe and I sat down, no script, just a 5 minute convo prior to discuss some high level topics around the current state and future of Talent Access and The New Workplace. What resulted was an incredible, organic conversation filled with tons of value and insights. Hope you enjoy this one from the heart. I appreciate all of you joining me on this journey I call #thePOZcast.

Joe Mullings is the Chairman & CEO of The Mullings Group, which is a HealthTech Media, Talent Access and Career Development Organization with more than 30 years of experience building value for more than 600 different companies. His clients are multi-billion-dollar companies including Johnson & Johnson, Google, Medtronic, Abbott and Siemens, as well as emerging startup companies that are bringing to market futuristic technologies like surgical robotics, tele-robotics, artificial intelligence and Deep Learning. He is also President & CEO of Dragonfly Stories, which is the production company behind the video docuseries “TrueFuture” of which he is the host.

This Episode’s Heavy-Hitters:

Joe will take the Arnold Palmer approach to his career in flying aircraft, and never take his wife and children into the air

Companies with strong and trustworthy brands will emerge quicker and stronger from the pandemic

Going into an interview by giving the interviewee the benefit of the doubt that they are trying their best is the best way to mute unconscious bias in the interviewing process

The future of hiring might include more exposure to a candidate’s personal life, with more content focusing around hobbies that are important to you, or what a day in the life of the candidates family activities is like for example

Mentorship for young professionals entering the workforce is one of the biggest losses of the pandemic
