The Four "P's" Of Job Search Success!

Reality Check: You are late to the job search party.

The truth is, as a job seeker, you probably do not know what stage the company is at in its search process until it's too late.

You might be applying a few weeks in, and they already have solid candidates far down the process. Even if the posting looks new, it could be an auto-refresh.

You need to control what you can, including your emotions and expectations. Especially how you engage with recruiters.

Here is how to use my "Posner Four P's of Relationship and Networking:

Patient: Things take time. Urgency on your end is probably not an emergency for others. Things always move slower than you want them to, always.

Polite: #DUH

Persistent: Mindful follow-up. Knowing when to check back in, typically 3-4 business days (see video)

Provide (value): Find opportunities to showcase what you can bring to an organization and what makes you stand out.

I have successfully applied my 4-P's over the last 25 years of my professional life with tremendous results. It's the framework for how I approach and manage my pro relationships and it has done me well!
