We should celebrate organizations making the effort and moving in the right direction, as no 100% perfect team or leader is doing this.
Employees value the genuine effort that makes a difference. They are drawn to leaders who embrace the core elements of DEI&B.
And let's not forget about the "B," belonging. Do I belong in this organization?
Belonging extends the principles of DEI by emphasizing the importance of creating an environment where employees feel accepted, valued, and connected to their organization and coworkers. Fostering a culture of Belonging Their contributions are genuinely valued and acted upon.Team-building activities and cultural norms are inclusive of all backgrounds.
Leadership regularly communicates and demonstrates a commitment to welcoming and connecting everyone. Belonging isn't just about hiring diverse talent. It’s about ensuring they thrive and feel like they genuinely belong in the organization.
