Ultimately, it comes down to Trusting the employee you hired to get the job done regardless of where they are.
That said, I am also a fan of hybrid work
(with certain caveats.)
Based on my experience, I would not have a high level of specific skill sets in my industry (client services) without the years of face-to-face learning.
Is there a new generation excelling at this without human contact?
SURE.
But they are at a disadvantage as their interpersonal skills will deteriorate over time.
Call me a boomer or whatever you want, but in my line of business, genuine relationships are built and nurtured IRL one way or another.
