The POZcast E6: Minnie Damle

The POZcast E6: Minnie Damle

Aside from the loss of someone close, losing your job is one of the worst things that can happen to someone. Whether you are let go, downsized or fired, whatever you want to call it, it's devastating.
When I got let go from VaynerMedia about 4 years ago, it was the lowest point in my life. I was broken and didn't know what to do next. Millions of thoughts ran through my mind: What was I going to tell my wife, my friends? How was I ever going to get another job in advertising again? Is this really what to be doing?
But at that moment, I had to dig down deep, harness my inner tenacity and drive forward. The rest as you know, is history.
On E6 of #ThePOZCast, I interviewed Minnie Damle, the Head of HR of Vayner who actually fired me 4 years ago. We talk about that, what you should do if you feel that you may be underperforming, what to do if you get let go and a whole lot more.
This episode brings it home full circle for me. Never burn bridges. Never let one moment define you. Sometimes we fail, but it's how we pick ourselves up and move forward that counts.
