Michael Sarraille & George Randle: Navy SEAL & Marine Vet: The Talent War

Michael Sarraille & George Randle: Navy SEAL & Marine Vet: The Talent War

In E129 of #thePOZcast, I speak with Michael and George about the strengths of military professionals, the civilian workforce, and how the perspective of a military leader can help improve the field of talent access. The guys and I break down the transition from life at war to civilian life and work, and how purpose has changed over time. What’s most palpable is how dedicated Michael and George remain to defending our country, and how ready they are to do so again at the drop of a dime.

The Talent War Co-Authors: Michael Sarraille had a 20-year career in Marine Recon and the Navy SEALs, including 10 combat deployments and currently Founder and CEO EF Overwatch. George Randle, 20 years in the US Army and now Head of Global Talent Acquisition at Forcepoint

In civilian life, they’re most dedicated to winning and driving those that they consult and train to win as well. They have a partnership that’s unlike many others given their prior experience, and through their company EF Overwatch, they’re looking out for top-level military leaders just like themselves. EF Overwatch helps these individuals who are highly qualified transition into critical leadership positions, ushering in a new level of reality and outside perspective to the civilian workforce.

Overall, we get into a preview of some of the principles covered in their new book “The Talent War: How Special Operations and Great Organizations Win on Talent” where they’ve boiled down the approach that’s brought them success in both military and civilian organizations. With this book they’ve managed to bring these lessons to anyone interested in building a more effective organization, and they encourage those who read it to have the straightforward conversations with their team that it’s driving philosophy demands.

I appreciate having had both of these guys on, a great example of tenacity at work at all times!

Thank you for your service Michael and George!
