BEST OF: E229: Dave Meltzer: Illuminating Your Mistakes & Taking Action

BEST OF: E229: Dave Meltzer: Illuminating Your Mistakes & Taking Action

FIRST AIRED: 7/19/22

In his early 20s, David Meltzer quickly rose to the top of his game in the business world, becoming a millionaire. David lectured around the globe and saw rapid success in every business project he touched. But something was missing, and in his 30s as a multimillionaire, he went on a rapid downward spiral that ended in bankruptcy. It was only then that David realized, in order to revive and thrive, he needed to codify what had made him successful in the first place. He has since emerged to realize even more rewarding heights of success in business and life.

David Meltzer has created a platform that uses four overarching principles—gratitude, empathy, accountability, and effective communication—and these principles have allowed him to communicate and mentor everyone from college students to c-suite executives. These four principles in everyday practice allow David to live by his mission to “make a lot of money, help a lot of people, and have a lot of fun.”

His life’s mission is to empower OVER 1 BILLION people to be happy! This simple yet powerful mission has led him on an incredible journey to provide people with value above all. In all his content and communication that’s exactly what you’ll receive. Check out this overdue catch up between Adam and Dave, who has been on the show three previous times. Truly a great chat with tons of knowledge bombs!

This Episode’s Heavy-hitter’s:

Dave believes it’s unrealistic that leaders in larger companies would take pay cuts to retain employees in periods of downturn, because they lack a personal relationship to employees.

For Dave, having empathy means being able to forgive yourself and he feels that in order to hold yourself accountable, you have to forgive yourself for the mistake first.

When it comes to how Dave conducts himself in everyday life and in the media he creates, he has learned a lot from his own children and how they learn much more from what he does rather than what he says.

A huge breakthrough for David was becoming vulnerable enough to publicly speak about his $100 million+ bankruptcy. Although he felt crazy talking transparently about it at the time– eventually he learned how powerful of a statement it was.

Being deliberate and in charge of one’s time doesn’t just mean working 24/7 for Dave, it just means planning daily reflections through his five daily principles and focusing on the micro period of what he can get done today to push towards his overall goal.
